Description

Macugnaga, a small pearl lying at the foot of Monte Rosa, boasts two well-respected ski areas: MACUGNAGA - BELVEDERE and MACUGNAGA - MONTE MORO. To reach them there are efficient chairlifts and cable cars departing from Pecetto and Staffa.

Macugnaga - Monte Moro: From the village of Staffa it is possible to reach Monte Moro thanks to two cableway installations: one leads up to the Alpe Bill, at 1700 metres, the second cable car leads to the Moro, which with its 2868 metres of altitude allows you to ski in high altitude snow in an incredible setting. The station proposes blue, red and black runs. For snowboarders, Monte Moro offers the equipped Pink Snowpark served by two ski lifts.

Magungnaga Belvedere: At Belvedere di Macugnaga, departure from Pecetto, there are six slopes. Three blue, quite easy, are served by the first chair lift, the one arriving at the Alpe Burki, and three red, which are reachable with the second chair lift, which leads from Alpe Burki to Belvedere. It leaves from 1390 metres at Pecetto to reach 2000 metres at Belvedere. The Burki area is suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers. At the departure of the chair lift there is a children's playground with a comfortable tapis roulant and a flat area to get to know the ski. From the Belvedere there are three large slopes, all of which are of medium difficulty, which are also suitable for snow-lovers with snowshoes and skins.
